Unique North Texas events this weekend: January 7-8

Spotlighting some of the best events in Collin County, Denton County and beyond for this coming weekend.

Cirque Italia Water Circus – Frisco

Cirque Italia takes the energy and excitement of a European circus, complete with high wire acts, clowns, trapeze artists and more, and adds just a small twist in the form of a whopping 35,000 gallons of water. It’s essentially a water show combined with a circus performance as fountains, water jets and more zigzag around the live performers. The big top travels to the Stonebriar Centre in Frisco starting January 5 and extending through January 16 for a series of hour-and-a-half long shows. Tickets are available through Eventbrite and start at a little over $27 for adults and just under $11 for children. Following the Frisco shows, the circus will then travel to Tyler and Grand Prairie later in January. For more information about the circus, visit https://cirqueitalia.com/.

Ice Skating, Wintertime Fun and More – Grapevine

Another Christmas has come and gone, but Grapevine is still home to a lot of seasonal fun this weekend. Perhaps most notably, this will be the last weekend to attend the new 4,500 square foot outdoor ice-skating rink on main street for the season. Complete with giant, oversized Christmas decorations, tickets for an hour-long skating session are $20 for all ages.

This weekend’s also marks visitors final chance to enjoy two other holiday season attractions in the city. Peppa Pig’s Winter Funtime event, which also ends on Sunday, lets children meet Peppa and participate in seasonal games or watch winter-themed episodes of the popular cartoon. The Legoland Discovery Center also finishes its Holiday Bricktacular with Christmas-themed attractions like a life-sized LEGO Santa. For easy access to more information about a last chance to attend any of these events, check out the city of Grapevine’s website.

Williams is a seasoned performer of more than two decades with experience around the world and even on TV. His show mixes the awe of live magic with a healthy helping of laughter in a format accessible for audience members of all ages.
