“Holiday on Thin Ice” Audition Call:

The theater describes “Holiday on Thin Ice” as a “hilarious comedy taking a jab at all the things we hold dear during the holidays. Directed by Kim Titus, the production is part of Pocket Sandwich Theatre’s Late Night at The Pocket adult comedy series. It looks at the “trials and jubilations of all of the holidays that happen around the winter solstice through comedy sketches and musical parodies.”

The theater will host auditions for the production, which runs on Friday and Saturday nights at 11:00 p.m. from November 24 through December 16, at a theater rehearsal space at 1225 W. College Street, #4416, Carrollton, TX 75006. The auditions will include cold readings, with attendees required to prepare an acapella Christmas carol. Auditionees can also bring their own music player and track if they wish as the theater will not provide live accompaniment.

Rehearsals run from between November 13-15 and 19-22, with the theater looking for a diverse cast. Pocket Sandwich Theatre accepts audition slot sign-ups at the link here as well as walk-ins.

“Ebenezer Scrooge” Audition Call:

Pocket Sandwich Theatre is set to host auditions for its 41st production of the holiday classic, “Ebenezer Scrooge,” based on the timeless Charles Dickens story “A Christmas Carol.” Billed as “North Texas’ longest running and highly acclaimed dinner theater,” the musical adaptation of the iconic story of Scrooge’s visit from three Christmas spirits runs from November 24 through December 23.

Pocket Sandwich Theatre will host the auditions for the Jeff Vance-directed play at its theater at 1104 S. Elm Street in Carrollton. Auditions will consist of cold reads from the script. Auditionees should also “prepare a musical theater piece showing your range.” The theater will provide accompaniment for those who bring printed music in the proper key. Auditionees may also bring prerecorded accompaniment.

Actors up to age 12 “may bring a short monologue (or poem or story) no longer than 2-3 minutes to recite and simply sing a children’s song” for the auditions.

Rehearsals will begin immediately after casting, with the theater looking for a diverse cast. Pocket Sandwich Theatre recommends auditionees bring a headshot and resume but does not require them. Similarly, Pocket Sandwich Theatre recommends audition signups at the link here, but it will still accept walk-ins on a first-come basis as time allows.
