Inside a record-breaking night in Grapevine as Solo Stove set a new Guinness World Record on July 22
North Texans helped break the world record for the most people making s’mores simultaneously.
It’s natural to cringe when someone talks about a record-setting day here in Texas. Thankfully, while it may have been fiery evening, the record set in Grapevine on Saturday night had nothing to do with the weather.
On July 22, Solo Stove successfully set the official Guinness World Record for most people making s’mores simultaneously at Chicken N Pickle in Grapevine. The attempt saw 891 people successfully roast a marshmallow over a Solo Stove Mesa Tabletop Fire Pit, make a s’more and eat it at the same time, breaking the previous world record of 801 held by the Girl Scouts of Middle Tennessee/Williamson County.
“It was a moment I’ll never forget,” Tyler DiGiovanni, director of partnerships at the Grapevine-based camp stove and fire pit manufacturer, said after Solo Stove set the new record.
The company plans to release its own footage of the successful attempt on August 10 in honor of National S’mores Day, according to DiGiovanni.
Following the record-setting festivities, Solo Stove hosted a celebration with free hors d’oeuvres, Topo Chico and open pickleball courts. There were also party games like s’mores trivia, a graham cracker stacking contest and a tallest marshmallow-and-spaghetti structure contest.
The Collin-Denton Spotlighter was on hand for the unique record-breaking night, so take a look at s’more pictures from the attempt and accompanying festivities.
