The Frisco Fair

Get ready for weeks of fun and games in Frisco with the return of the fair. Starting on April 28, head down to the intersection of Main Street and Frisco Street for The Frisco Fair. Enjoy carnival games, rides, food vendors and more at this family-friendly event. The Frisco Fair tickets cost $5, with rides starting at $4. The fair runs 7-days a week through May 14. “Celebrating Willie Nelson: A UNT Special Collections Exhibit” Opening Reception – Denton

In honor of Willie Nelson’s upcoming 90th birthday, the UNT CoLab and UNT Special Collections have partnered together for a showcase of the country icon’s tour and concert artwork from acclaimed artist Steve Brooks. More than 70 pieces will be on display at the CoLab, showing Brooks’ creative process for designing everything from posters and t-shirts to guitar picks and ticket stubs for Nelson through the 70s and 80s. The exhibit opens April 28 with a special reception from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. featuring Brooks himself. Frisco Uncorked

Sample tastings from a selection of more than 100 award-winning wines from over 25 different wineries at this expansive event at Frisco Square. From noon to 6:00 p.m. on April 29, attendees can purchase a $40 wine-tasting ticket to receive their own Frisco Uncorked wine glass and a tasting pass that allows them to sample 20 one-ounce tastings from the event’s wineries. There will also be a separate $40 food-tasting event from noon to 4:00 p.m. spotlighting a wide variety of international restaurants vying for the Frisco Uncorked People’s Choice award. Grape stomping competitions, music and local vendor shopping opportunities will also accompany both of the tastings. Irving Taco & Margarita Festival

Taco and margarita samplings take center stage at the Toyota Music Factory from noon to 6:00 p.m. on April 29. Experience some rockin’ bold flavors from more than 10 taco and margarita vendors while enjoying a live DJ or checking out the festival’s beer garden. VIP admission earns the earliest entry at noon and comes with 4 drink and 3 food tickets, along with a pair of raffle tickets to win a trip to Mexico, for $49 before fees. Regular sampling admission, which starts at 3:00 p.m., costs $33 before fees and gives attendees 3 drink and 2 food sample tickets as well as a single raffle ticket. Crowns, Corgis, Cycles and Car Show – Grapevine

The coronation of King Charles III is sure to be a spectacle to behold on May 6, but the British Emporium in Grapevine isn’t waiting until next weekend to start celebrating. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 30, the store hosts a British car and motorcycle meet and corgi parade. Vintage examples of popular brands like Jaguars, Bentleys, Rolls Royce and many more will be on hand for the car meet before the corgis bound their way through the event at 2:00 p.m. for the parade. The store plans to hand out prizes at the parade to the best dressed corgi and best dressed corgi/owner duo.
