2022 U.S. Army Bowl and Frisco Bowl – Frisco
Just two weeks before Texas’ own TCU Horned Frogs head to Arizona to play for a chance to challenge for the National Championship, check out some college and high school football action right in Frisco. At 2:00 P.M. on December 17, the Ford Center at The Star hosts the U.S. Army Bowl. The game offers some of the nation’s elite high school prospects the opportunity to showcase their skill prior to entering college. At 8:15 P.M. later that night, Toyota Stadium then hosts the Frisco Bowl featuring another one of Texas’ bowl-bound teams, the University of North Texas Mean Green, taking on Boise State. Winspear Opera House Holiday Tours – Dallas
The AT&T Performing Arts Center is offering three free backstage tours of the Winspear Opera House which includes a chance to see the Moody Foundation Chandelier Light Show. The first of the tours, which are each estimated to run around an hour in length, start at 10:00 A.M. on December 17. Two more tours are available next week at 4:00 P.M. on December 20 and 22. The arts center encourages a $1 donation for children and a $3 donation for adults to the North Texas Food Bank for attendees. Visit the AT&T Performing Arts Center website for more information.
Oh, What Fun it is at The Hill – Dallas
This annual Christmas celebration at The Hill Shopping Center in Dallas runs from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on December 17. A meet-and-greet character breakfast with family favorites from Disney’s Frozen at the center’s Snooze eatery, which will also feature a holiday hot chocolate and mimosa bar, highlights the event as well as live holiday music and plenty of photo opportunities. There will also be free cookie decorating, ‘Santa Paws’ pet activities and more from participating tenant spaces and vendors at the celebration. Flea Harvey’s Rock n Roll Holiday Market
Lee Harvey’s, which D Magazine has voted Dallas’ number one dive bar in past years, hosts this monthly flea market which features more than 17 vendors selling items ranging from art and vintage apparel to vinyl records and jewelry. This month, the market takes a holiday twist with an appearance by Santa Claus who will be taking photos with your pet for a donation to The Love Pit, a local Pitbull rescue in Dallas. The market opens at 11:00 A.M. on December 17 and runs through 4:00 P.M. with breakfast tacos and mimosas served through 2:00 P.M. at Lee Harvey’s.
