Hear Elvis Presley’s greatest hits live on stage at North Texas Performing Arts (NTPA) Repertory Theatre’s production of “All Shook Up.” The show, directed by Ashlee Elizabeth Bashore, runs from March 15-24 at the Rodenbaugh Theatre at NTPA Willow Bend Center of the Arts in Plano.

A recent NTPA release described the show as a “mad-cap musical” following “Natalie, a young mechanic with a heart for adventure, and Chad, a mysterious, hip-swiveling roustabout who has become stranded in town and decides to shake things up in this small, 1950’s Texas Inspired border town. The production abounds with rock ‘n roll, gospel, romance and mistaken identities.”

PLANO, Texas – February 29, 2024 – NTPA Repertory Theatre will present the musical All Shook Up March 15-24, 2024 at the Rodenbaugh Theatre in Willow Bend Center of the Arts. Set in 1955, this charming jukebox musical features beloved Elvis Presley hits such as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.” Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night and directed by Ashlee Elizabeth Bashore, this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have attendees jumpin’ out of their blue suede shoes.

This mad-cap musical comedy follows the story of Natalie, a young mechanic with a heart for adventure, and Chad, a mysterious, hip-swiveling roustabout who has become stranded in town and decides to shake things up in this small, 1950’s Texas Inspired border town. The production abounds with rock ‘n roll, gospel, romance and mistaken identities.

The runtime is 1.5 hours and the show is rated PG (recommended age: 11+). Tickets range from $20-32. The show runs for two weekends with evening performances at 7:30 pm and matinees at 2:30 pm. A special ASL performance will be held on Saturday, March 23rd at 2:30 pm. The recommended seating for optimal viewing of the ASL interpreter is the left side of the theater.

It’s 1955, and in rides a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone he meets. Loosely based on Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy will have you jumpin’ out of your blue suede shoes with classic Elvis Presley hits such as “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Hound Dog,” “Jailhouse Rock,” and “Don’t Be Cruel.”

“I am delighted to have the opportunity to bring back a little bit of Rock and Roll to the North Texas Stage,” says Artistic Director Ashlee Elizabeth Bashore. “Our production intends to capitalize on the rockin good tunes, celebration of The South and reaching for a common ground. We honor the roots and culture of the folks that have thrived here. With the influence of rock and roll, of course.”

The cast features Abigail Head as Natalie. Abigail recently completed her Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Georgia. The roustabout Chad will be portrayed by Texas’s own Tahric Loften who notes “This show changes everyone’s life with the power of music and the humor, passion and love.” Other leading roles include Breanna Cox (Lorraine), Kelsi Peterson (Sylvia), Giovanny Castro (Dean), Dylan Ciminna (Dennis), Brent Burden (Jim), Adam Michael Thomas (Earl), Darolyn Nieves (Miss Sandra) and Bella Correa (Mayor).

The ensemble includes Abbi Boyd, Megan Lemonds (Lorraine U/S), Zoe Settle, Austin McNamara, Mark Eaglesham, Elena Holt (Natalie U/S).

All Shook Up is directed by Ashlee Elizabeth Bashore and choreographed by Sam Howard with the musical direction of Drew Howard. Production Stage Manager is Malaisian Ann Parker and Lighting by Edgar Hernandez with costumes by Shannon Hauser.
